Add a Gift Registry to Your Store
Integrating a Felicite gift registry to your store is a great way to increase revenue through another sales channel.
Merchants and / or web developers often ask about the gift registry code; What needs to be intsalled? Is it hard to do? Can it be modified?
For integration the merchant is responsible for adding two key pieces:
- Add to Registry Buttons (a.k.a ATR's):ATR's consists of basic HTML that calls a JavaScript located on our server. Clicking the ATR passes information about the gift like gift name and price back to Felicite and the item is put on the registrant's gift list. There are many ways to do this and we have developed special buttons for certain ecommerce platforms; like Yahoo RTML or Monster Commerce. As a developer you may even create your own functions -we don't care how we get the data so long as we get the data! Usually ATR's are placed near existing Add to Shopping cart buttons. Also, it's your store so you decide what items are eligible for placement on the gift registry and feel to change the look of the buttons. Below is a picture from a member merchant site and shows how the look of the Add to Registry Button was changed.
- Info/Search/Sign-In Page: The second part of integrating registry buttons is to add a simple form so registrants can login to manage their registry and for gift givers to find their friends registry. It is helpful to make the gift registry a main navigation button link on your menu. Like the ATR button feel free to change the look of these simple forms to match the colors of your site.
Have more questions? Feel free to Contact Us or any of our recommended developers. Checkout some of our member merchant sites. While visiting do a view source wherever you see a Felicite Add to Registry button that will give most developers a pretty good insight as to what code needs to be added.
